The PPAQ had the pleasure of witnessing the talented Kira Likhterova of Art Photography by Kira give an inspiring and highly informative workshop. Kira covered the topic of posing everyday women to make them look their best. She also talked about her Photoshop techniques and gave away some of her trade secrets, which we really appreciated!
The feedback we've received so far has been beyond our expectations! Even one of the TAFE students who attended said she'd learnt more in this day than the whole of last semester.
The PPAQ are excited to see that our association can provide such a wonderful platform for new and experienced photographers to grow and thrive personally and in their businesses.
Thanks so much to the 80 people who attended. The PPAQ looks forward to hosting many more of these workshops in the near future. Stay tuned!

Advanced Lightroom 4 Seminar - 20th March, 2012
Another very successful PPAQ event. The Advanced Lightroom was fantastic. Quite a few great pointers there and LR4 is very impressive. Thanks Stephen Walker for all your effort and an informative presentation...
Stay tuned for more informative workshops and seminars advertised via the PPAQ Facebook page and on this Blog in 2012 and beyond.
2012- Studio Visit - SW19 Studio
On the 12th of March, the first PPAQ Studio Visit for 2012 was held at Paul Copsey's studio SW19 at Sandgate. Paul's studio consists of interview and viewing rooms where we all gathered in to listen to Paul's interesting presentation. Afterwards, there was the opportunity to mingle and network with other photographers.
Paul Copsey has been a professional wedding and portrait photographer for 9 years but it is only in the last 3 years that Paul has grown his photography business from being a one man band into a strong team of five people. Come and hear Paul share his secrets with you.
Paul considers his greatest career achievement has been to earn a living from his passion. Paul says “The combination of career and hobby means every day I can look forward to going to work with a spring in my step”. Thus, photography isn’t merely Paul’s job, it’s been his passion right back to about the age of 12. In his spare time he can be found photographing his two daughters, landscapes, street scenes or traditional black & white.
Paul is the current Treasurer of the PPAQ (Professional Photographers Association of Queensland). Close to Paul’s heart is ability to mix with other photographers in order to inspire each other and to promote photography as an Art form that it certainly is.
